MH Tool

MH Tools (discs/wheels) are manufactured from specially treated porous polyurethane foam. The tools are used for the polishing and lapping of glass, natural stones, single crystal materials, etc. The MH Tool material has the same properties in all directions. Hence the tools can be used on vertical as well as horizontal machines. The tools are used in all cases where, up until now, traditional materials such as cork, poplar wood, felt, etc., have been used. When compared with traditional materials, MH Tools offer the following advantages:

• Less physical effort.

Recommended polishing agents:

Polishing agents such as pumice, tripoli, oxides of iron, cerium, aluminium, chromium, etc., can be used for polishing as well as for lapping.

You can have this wheel shaped on circuit - please note into the order, what radius or angle you need.

MH Tool hardness: MH Tools are manufactured in the following four grades of hardness:

• Very soft MM – Glass repairs
• Soft M – Repairs and polishing of large radii or slightly profiled cuts
• Hard T – Flat surfaces, round R25, wedge cuts 100-150°
• Very hard TT – Polishing of cuts and other shapes, facets, seams, upper edge of glasses

Recommended working conditions:

• Cutting lathes                  270 r.p.m.           for diameter 500 mm
• Flat polishing machines     150 r.p.m.           for diameter 600 mm
• Shaping                           380 r.p.m.          for diameter 500 mm

Highest number of revolutions: 580 r.p.m.    for diameter 500 mm
